This was the 3rd Belmont Bridal Sampler where I've been a vendor, and it didn't disappoint. The show was well attended, even in the COLD.  Betsy and Lindy are so accommodating, and the space is so lovely. It is one of my favorite venues for weddings and receptions.

At the show, I met some lovely brides-to-be and was thrilled that so many loved the bouquet that I made. My style is more contemporary than traditional and it seems to resonate with lots of brides. I went with my favorite rose, "Sahara", brown mini-cymbidium orchids, and added seeded eucalyptus, pheasant feathers, and magnolia leaves. I wrapped the stems in mink brown Midori ribbon! Yummmm! I really could have eaten this bouquet. (Brown happens to be my favorite color!)

Today, I am in NYC attending FlowerSchool New York. I train here every year, taking several classes each year. The school is directed by Eileen Johnson, and it is the most fabulous opportunity for any flower enthusiast! The teachers are the "top" floral designers in New York and the styles are so current, fresh, sophisticated, and elegant! Please visit the web site for a complete list of teachers. www.flowerschoolny.com. Last night was my first class of the week and we learned to do a crown of rosemary, ivy, bush ivy berries (beautiful), lisianthus, and majolica roses. How gorgeous for the flower girls in a garden wedding or a real free-spirited bride in an outdoor (ooooh a woodland) wedding. The picture will be forthcoming, as I left it in the cooler last night before walking back to the hotel in about 12 degree weather. We also learned how to do a hairpiece on a comb that would be gorgeous on the side of an up-do. Tonight we will be doing floral pew ends. Philipe Sastre is the teacher, and in his 19th year of floral design, he is phenomenal!!!!!!! The picture below is of Cas Trap, owner of Dutch Flower Line www.dutchflowerline.com, Eileen Johnson, Director and me, Jane Guerin. It was taken at the last class I took in June of 2010. The flowers in the flower district continue to knock my socks off - you can get anything in NYC!!!!! Cas said he would send anything I want to me overnight. Yea!!!
